UX Week 2007

Adaptive Path Presents UX Week 2007

Building on the successes and overwhelmingly positive feedback generated by its previous five conferences, Adaptive Path is serving up what promises to be its largest, most comprehensive, and thought-provoking UX Week yet. Mobile devices, search engines, and user-centered design are but a few of the complex, cutting-edge topics to be examined during the four-day, participatory user experience event.

Turning great products and services into compelling experiences requires more than simply making something look good; it is important to peel back the layers and examine all parts of the whole. This is why UX Week is so relevant and why it’s attracting such attention—it goes beyond the everyday. Held annually, UX Week attracts thought leaders from Fortune 100 corporations, top-tier universities, and several of todays most talked about and innovative start-ups.

Practitioners, designers, managers, business leaders, and academics— some returning for the second or third time—are converging on Washington to bone up on old skills, learn new ones, and to better understand how to communicate the business value of a good user experience.

Who: Keynoting the conference are luminaries in the area of user experience thought, research, and design, including Deborah Adler, designer of the highly touted Target Clear RX pill bottle; Jan Chipchase, a well known and respected design researcher for Nokia; key members of the interface design team behind the One Laptop Per Child project; and Adaptive Path’s own Senior Interaction Designer, Dan Saffer. For a full schedule of events, please visit www.adaptivepath.com/events/2007/aug/.

More than 350 information architects, visual designers, interaction designers, user experience practitioners, business leaders, academics, and others interested in creating a superior user experience are expected to attend from all corners of the country and the world. Microsoft, eBay, Vanguard, General Mills, Expedia, Wal- Mart, Mapquest, AOL, Bank of America, Xerox, Grey Advertising, and several leading colleges and universities are but a few of the organizations to be represented this August.

Adaptive Path is the founder and host of the annual conference, now in its sixth year. A leading user experience research, development, and training firm, Adaptive Path has provided custom services to a range of clients, including Fortune 100 corporations, pure-Web startups, and established non-profit organizations.
