Apple 3rd?
According to IDC Apple is now virtually tied for 3rd place in U.S. market share with Gateway.
Both companies have 5.6% of all computers sold last quarter. Dell held first place and HP 2nd.
The IDC analyst seemed to think that Apple would not be able to get the 3rd place spot to itself before the end of the year. For some reason, he feels that Gateway is a more consumer oriented machine. He also appears to feel that Apple will be doing more with opening emerging markets, which I assume means China.
