iPhones - How many will be sold?
If you believe the Register, the number is less than 10 million in 2008. However, Merrill Lynch is saying that Apple is likely to ship 4 million iPhones this year alone.
They continue to say that IF everything goes to plan, Apple should shp more than 12 million in '08. That would mean 16 million sold in the 18 months.
Of course, in his keynote at Expo, Steve Jobs had said not that they would sell 10 milion in '08, but that they would sell 10 million in the first year, which is by then end of June 2008.
Apple has traditionally beat its predictions and I would think they have had careful thought about this one so as not to disappoint. (Remember there were only 125,000 or so Macs sold in the first year.) What do you think?
