eBay drops Google
Last Friday, the BBC reported that eBay pulled all of its advertisements via Google 's Adsense because of Google putting on an event at the same time as eBay's annual merchants' conference.
While most of us don't think of Google and eBay being competitors, the truth is, with the birth of Google Checkout payments they are a direct competitor to eBay's PayPal service.
eBay spends an estimate $25 million a year on Adwords. So this might not have been a good move on Google's part. But then, it would appear that Google has already backed down as they canceled their event the day before it was due to happen.
