Applications May Be The iPhone's Shortcoming

An article with the above title appeared on the InformationWeek web site this week.

The article deals with third party software development and how disappointing the annuouncement of the ability to write Ajax applications for the iPhone.

The real issues are
1) such an application isn't integrated into the iPhone's interface and
2) they won't work unless the iPhone has an Internet connection.
3) These applications will run slower since they must work over the Edge network.

There are a few other issues, (like security) but I will let InformationWeek tell you about them here.
