Address Book Tips (Mac)
This web site lists 10 tips that helps us get more out of Apple's Address Book.
1) Add Contacts to your Safari Bookmarks by changing a preference in Safari.
2) Chat to your Contacts by integrating quite well into iChat, the Mac OS X instant messenger. If a person in your Address Book is online and using iChat, a little green dot will appear next to their picture.
3) Put your Contacts in the Spotlight. This means that Spotlight will find all documents, photos, iCal events, etc. that has that persons name associated with it. (This includes attachments e-mailed to you, that you received via Mail.)
4) Highlight Groups, hold down the option key while viewing a contact and all the groups that they will be highlighted.
5) Get Directions to the address of a person listed in Address Book. Just click on their address and choose "Map Of" from the menu that appears. The map comes via Safari and MapQuest. There is also a Google Maps Plugin available.
6) Merge two contacts (You can also look for duplicate entries.)
7) Large Type for the phone nmber
8) Address Book Sharing via .Mac
9) Use vCards
10) Make Your Own Card - will aid in Autofilling forms in Safari. (It is possible to keep some items in your card private when sending to other people.)
11) Printing Envelopes by choose Envelopes from the Style pop-up menu in the print dialog box.
