Washington Apple Pi

Lisa Snider KingLesa Snider King, chief spokesperson for iStockphoto.com and image editing whiz, is this month's featured speaker at Luther Jackson Middle School, Falls Church, VA on Saturday, May 26, 2007. The meeting will be of interest to all persons who are involved in digital image editing or graphic design even though it is the May general meeting of Washington Apple Pi (WAP), the oldest and largest of the Macintosh user groups serving the greater Washington DC metro area.

Washington Apple Pi recognizes their best member photographs in a Recognition/Awards ceremony at Luther Jackson Middle School in Falls Church, VA, on May 26, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. The winning subject-area photographs will be shown and the photographers will receive their certificate of achievement as novice or advanced photographer skill levels. Novices competed against other novices and advanced against their peers. The contest accepted photographs in five subject areas –People, Nature, Buildings and Man-Made Structures, Travel Destinations, and the fun subject, Washington Apple Pi. The latter category required each submission to represent Washington or Apple(s) or Pi(e), or more than one of these.

"This year was Apple Pi's first digital photo contest. Each member was invited to submit their best digital images in any or all of the subject areas" stated Pat Fauquet, WAP's vice president of programs. "Outside judges allowed all members to participate in this fun event. We look forward to seeing the up to thirty subject / skill level winners and the overall ‘best-of-show' photograph."

Meetings start with Question and Answer session, continue with concurrent breakout special interest tutorial sessions, reassemble for featured speaker, followed by raffle and adjournment at 12:30p.m.

This month's breakout session topics are
