Computer user tools
When I run across something thoroughly useful from my work in my "day job", the Design Center, I like to pass it along to the user group community as well.
Here's a "toolbox" of totally useful file templates and tutorials that all computer users can use.
The Designer's Toolbox has been around for quite some time, but most people somehow miss it. Here you can find important tools across three categories: print, legal, and online.
The print tools are particularly helpful, providing a full catalog of the standard sizes used for brochures, CD cases, envelopes, and folders. When you need to know some stats on printing jobs, here it is.
The Legal Tools, while more specifically for freelance or professional designers, can possibly come in handy at some point for all computer users. The small library of customizable MS Word templates includes freelance contracts, privacy statements, NDAs, and copyright notices.
The Online Tools section contains a banner size reference, and a collection of those special characters used in html. There's also a cool CSS generator that lets you tweak your type choices.
This could be a very useful bookmark to many of our readers.
