America's Top 15 Most Trusted Brands
According to Outlaw Consulting, the top 15 most trusted brands are topped by Apple, followed by Trader Joe's, Jet Blue, In-N-Out Burger and Ben & Jerry's.
Outlaw Consulting survey was limited to only 109 people surveyed and most of those were "Gen Y". These people were selected from a group of 500 that Outlaw has been using for the past 12 years. Hardly random.
I have no problem believing that 21-27 year olds view Apple favorably, I find it hard to believe that Jet Blue and In-N-Out Burger are so highly rated. Jet Blue has more than its share of problems over the past year and In-N-Out isn't a very wide spread chain. The vast majority of American's have never heard ot it.
I have followed other Trend watching companies during my tenure with a consumer electronics company and I have some faith in them, but in this case, I really wonder.

Besides my opinion above I would like to comment on how old media still doesn't get the net. The original location I found the story about Outlaw Consulting was on an NBC station's web site. But that site warned that the story could not be rewritten for any other publication. But if you do those kind of warnings, it makes it hard for others to link to that story. Imagine!
