"The Downing of Internet Radio"

This past week, Chris Breen gives us a warning about Internet Radio. It seems that the greed of the RIAA is once again proving that they can kill their own business.

They have pursued a new rate where the Internet "radio stations" will have to pay on a per song per listener basis. This instead of the percent of income that was being paid last year while this proposal was being discussed.

It means that very few of the internet only or broadcast based streams will be available on line. (If any.)

Between this type of action and the suing of their customers it is any wonder that anyone will purchase CDs from the RIAA labels.

Don't the companies realize that their customers want to sample their music before they purchase? Their revenue stream is going to continue to get smaller and smaller as more and more artists sell direct to the consumer.

See Chris' take on this
