Portland MUG MacCamp

Deep in Oregon's rain forest, the folks who attended April's MacCamp ate, slept and lived Macintosh for three days.

If you have been to one of Portland MUG's MacCamps you know how wonderful a weekend can be and this one -- their 44th - was no exception. UG members learned about Mac OS X, iPhoto, iWeb, GarageBand and system preferences. A unique interactive presentation was given by Rob Griffiths, Macworld Contributing Editor and the founder of MacOSXHints.com.

"My day at camp"

In fact, the weekend prompted Rob Griffiths to write up a column for Macworld saying...

> "Last Saturday, I spent the day at camp—MacCamp, to be precise. For the last 20-plus years, the award-winning Portland Macintosh Users Group (PMUG) has held these twice-yearly escapes for Mac devotees. Held at the very scenic Silver Falls State Park, MacCamp offers Mac users a three-day-long Mac-focused retreat from urban life. PMUG reserves four lodges (cabins) at the conference center within the park, accommodating up to 56 "campers," though this isn’t camping in any traditional sense."
