Mac User Groups Doing Podcasts

I have mentioned that the Apple Corp of Dallas, celebrating its 30th anniversary is doing video of its meetings on Google Video. I recently added podcast of Huntsville (Alabama)MUG and ColoradoMUG of Boulder.

I found these on iTunes last week and subscribed. On the HMUG session I listened to, they were having a deep discussion about where to schedule what I take to be their Q&A period called "Flash". I don't know that anything was settled, but it is a discussion more groups are having. Do we have the Q&A before the presentation so members can leave if they aren't interested in the presentation? Do we have it after the presentation so the vendor can leave? The presentation was done by a member on "I Remember" and a video presentation on how to use PhotoShop Elements for scrapbooking.

The other group,CoMUG did a presentation on creating an external drive so it would be bootable on both PowerPC and Intel Macs. A video version of their program is streamed from their web site during their second Tuesday of the month. Details on the web site.

Perhaps we can use these types of programs as ideas for our own meetings. Anyone else? Please let us know so we can pass on the word.

KMUG also has it's own podcast.

I used to just update some of the more notable news of the week, but one topic kept coming up at meetings so I felt it warranted further discussion, so I am doing a three part podcast on backups.
