Brendon Sinclair, editor of Sitepoint’s “Sitepoint Tribune” points out a disastrous mistake you can make if looking for a job online.
Brendon says:
> I’ve been looking for some help with setting up some WordPress sites recently and have asked for help from SitePointers over at the Looking to Hire section of the Marketplace. It really is a very simple, cheap, and effective way to find talented help. [End Quote]

Brendon continues:
> … if you’re looking for work here or on other forums, don’t make the mistake made by one of the guys who sent me his details for consideration: don’t link to your site if it displays offensive videos. [End Quote]

> That’s the thing about the web: you have to very carefully manage your online reputation. So consider what you’re publishing — that’s every forum post, every video, every audio, every single thing — now and into the future. [End Quote]
Excellent advice. And don’t forget that web content can stay there a long, long time — and they can come back to haunt you many years after you posted them.
