Google should know better than anyone what causes drive failure. (They reportedly have 100,000+ hard drives in their data centers.)

Google should know better than anyone what causes drive failure. (They reportedly have 100,000+ hard drives in their data centers.)

Their report basically says that all conventional wisdom is wrong and that there is no way to tell how long before failure will happen.
