Google Buys DoubleClick for $3.1 Billion

What happens when the big fish begin gobbling up the other big fish?

The New York Times report last Friday on line and in Saturday’s newspaper, that last week Google bought DoubleClick for $3.1 Billion.

That figure is almost twice what Google paid for YouTube, but then, YouTube hasn’t really provided any income. Microsoft had also been in the bidding, but lost out.

I wonder if this will mean the end of the tracking that DoubleClick has always done or of it will spread that technology into Google’s ads.

Only time will tell.
