All about Mac Loyalists
"Why Apple's customer base is so loyal and enthusiastic" is the title of an article on the BlackFriar's web site. i believe that it is right on.
It points out that MacZealots are not just empty headed fanatics, but are rather something rare in America and especially in the computer world. They are "satisfied customers". Imagine! Part of this satisfaction is the result of having few but definite products to choose from. Sometimes freedom to choose is overated.
Fred sez:
Lynn, I also like to remember many of the sayings of Guy Kawasaki, the original Apple evangelist.
He passed along these zenful morsels of evangelism to User Group leaders at the 2002 Macworld SF:
* Create a cause (i.e.: the Macintosh religion).
* Look for virgins, not atheists.
* Let a thousand flowers bloom.
* Remember your friends.
* Ignore pedegrees
He also commented about Apple:
> "I believe in God because
> there is no other explanation for
> Appleās continued existence."
... And, of course, the fact that if you buy one Mac, you'll likely buy another, and another. If people bought one Mac, then returned to another brand for the second computer, Apple would not be here today...
