My Dream App Winners
Tah-dah... the "American Idol" of the Macintosh world
The voting is over... we have a winner:
Tah-dah... the "American Idol" of the Macintosh world, My Dream App, is a Mac contest in search of the next killer app. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, Apple evangelist Guy Kawasaki, and Xbox and zune creator J. Allard came together as guest judges, to select the "Macintosh Idol" in the final round. Visitors to the MyDreamApp.com web site could vote for their 3 favorite app ideas, and receive free licenses to both Overflow 2 and the Apple Design Award winning PhotoPresenter.
These winners, have emerged from an initial pool of more than 2,700 entrants, and will see their app idea realized as a Mac shareware application and earn royalties on sales:
Third runner up: Dan Lundmark's Blossom
Second runner up: Richard Whitelock's Whistler
First runner up: Kevin Capizzi's Hijack
And the winners!
These apps have fought their way through five grueling rounds of eliminations and the public has voted them the most compelling, most interesting, and most wanted.Third Place: Michael Yuan, Cookbook
Second Place: Farzad Sadjadi, Portal
First Place: Cameron Westland, Atmosphere
[ Note: My vote went to "Portal", in my humble opinion, the most useful product of the whole group.]
