Michael Pacylowski, Kickpoint Solutions' president, demonstrates VectorWorks, the premier Macintosh computer aided design (CAD) software at Washington Apple Pi's general meeting on Saturday, October 28 at the Microsoft Innovation & Technology Center in Reston, Virginia. The VectorWorks presentation will include examples of 3-D rendering from architectural plans, landscape plans, stage design and lighting plans in addition to the traditional mechanical drawings for precision machine parts and patent submissions. VectorWorks is available for both Macintosh and PC computers.

"I had been hoping to engage an architect and interior designer with complementary software to design my retirement home," said Tom Carlson, Washington Apple Pi's VP for Publicity. Tom continued, "VectorWorks with its multiple output formats will be perfect to let me play furniture layout and other furnishing color schemes between design iterations."

Michael's hour-long presentation of VectorWorks at 9 a.m. will be followed with breakout groups, one of which will feature an advanced demo of VectorWorks and an opportunity to ask questions. Other breakouts will be aimed at special interest groups. Members, visitors and guests may choose to continue discussion over lunch at Reston Town Square's Panera Bread store three blocks away.

The October Pi Fillings CD will be for sale before and after the meeting. The CD includes recent Apple software updates, Macintosh news items and URL to Macintosh news too large to include on CD.

Those who can't attend the meeting can purchase the CD will is for sale for $12 at the <> on the Pi Fillings CD link ... CDs help defray meeting costs.

The meeting, open to the public, starts at 9 a.m. at the Microsoft Innovation & Technology Center, 12012 Sunset Hills Road, Reston, VA, 20190.
