RooSwitch grabs the app and it's data files

RooSwitch is an application to help manage multiple profiles for almost any application on OS X.

Drop an application on rooSwitch and it does its best to find what settings files are associated with that application. rooSwitch then allows the user to create a copy of the profile, or start from scratch. Switching between profiles is painless. When switching, rooSwitch will automatically detect if the application is running, quit the application, switch the data files, and then re-launch the application.

rooSwitch was originally written for developers and beta testers. "I needed rooSwitch" says its developer Brian Cooke. "Maintaining test and demo files, and testing the new user experience for other apps I work on was getting painful. I needed to ease that pain, so I wrote rooSwitch. Now I hope to ease the pain of others."

Although rooSwitch is targeted at developers and beta testers, non- technical consumers have also found uses for rooSwitch. One example is using rooSwitch to maintain "at home" and "at work" stickies on your laptop. Simply switch to the "at work" profile when you get to work and you no longer have to worry about fellow employees peeking at your grocery list.

rooSwitch 1.0 is a Universal Binary and requires Mac OS X 10.4 or higher. A single user license is priced at $14.95 and a free 30 day trial is available from
