UG: Summer doldrums
Summer is nearly hear. I am curious about how groups spend their summer. I know that some take the summer off.

I have always thought that was a mistake for most groups. It is hard to get members to return after three months off. But I can see why university groups would do it. Others sponsor special outings for "social" get togethers.
Picnics are big, but there could be other ideas too.

One of the best user group functions I ever attended was the summer pic-nic out in California. Everyone had a super time, and I won a T-Shirt in the prize drawing.
Members won't mind kicking in some money to cover food, etc.
If you've got GarageBand users, let them hook up to some big speakers and provide music. (Hopefully good music!)
