MacBUS Awards Scholarships

The Macintosh Business Users Society of Greater Philadelphia (MacBUS) is pleased to announce the 2006 winners of the "MacBUS Student Award" scholarship program.


This program was created to identify and reward students who show likely promise as future business-oriented Macintosh users.

MacBUS is pleased to announce the following winners:

* Megan Elise, 1st place - $1250
* Heather Shoemaker, 2nd place - $750
* Meredith M. Grant, 3rd place - $500
* Sara Kornacki, Honorable Mention. -iPod

The winners will received their awards at a special awards ceremony and reception on May 16th.

Each year, MacBUS will select a junior or senior level class that has a major business-related assignment or project, from a rotating list of departments. All students within the chosen class will be eligible for the "MacBUS Student Award" scholarship. Out of the student projects in the class, MacBUS will select three top finalists, who will be asked to talk about their projects at a MacBUS meeting, and will be awarded a prize. Prizes will include a monetary award, and possibly hardware, software, or other prizes.

Prizes were made possible by MacBUS and generous contributions from sponsors including
* The AppleSeeds Foundation (formerly known as the "UG Academy") and
* MatrxSystems (http://www.matrxsystems.com).

MacBUS was the first user group in the United States to focus on the business and professional uses of the Macintosh operating system. The group of approximately 75 members meets monthly in Dorrance Hamilton Hall at:
