Apple Macintosh Association of Queensland, Inc. is lending a hand around the world…

————–

Many user groups refurbish computers, but some go the extra mile.

For the last ten years, the Apple Macintosh Association of Queensland, Inc. Lions Club has given away close to 400 computers to people in The Solomons, East Timor, West Papua, Uganda, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Samoa and Fiji, with another 200 earmarked for Samoa and 150 proposed for Uganda.

They have set themselves the impressive project of computerizing Samoa. Whether it is close to $600,000 in relief supplies for cyclone victims, or 100 tons of supplies to tsunami relief, this group’s generosity is making lives better around the globe.

Our group has tried to find outlets for used equipment, but in today’s world no one wants any computer that won’t run the latest Windows, or Mac OS X… so, you can forget about beige!
