Safari Pull-Down Trick

If you haven't discovered this trick yet, I think you'll like it...

One of the nice things to discover is when old habits work well in new software programs. Thank goodness there are still programmers out there who feel they don't need to change everything just to introduce a new version. (Are you reading, Adobe?)

Such is the case with some of the features in Apple's Safari Web Browser...

Safari Pull-Down

So, if you're ever lost when on a web page, just hold down the command key and click on the title of the page in the window title.

A drop-down list of pages will appear and you can scroll down to select the one you want. This is particularly helpful when traversing sites that are very deep, and you'd like to pop out to a higher directory -- not necessarily the last page or even the one before that.

Another nice thing to remember is that this works anywhere on your Mac. If you drag and drop any document onto the Safari icon in the Dock, Safari will attempt to open it. (This includes graphics files like PDF, GIF, JPG or PNG!) Now when you Command/Click/Hold on its title bar, you're presented with the folder structure leading to that file. Selecting upper directories will bring them into view in Safari, or in the case of folders, in the Finder.

Sweet.
