User Group Salute: COWMUG
County of Westmoreland Macintosh Users Group... serving Mac users in Monroeville, Allegheny and Westmoreland counties, PA
COWMUG began its official existence in 1991. It was founded by several adventuresome high school students and cooperative adults, all of whom were impressed with the Apple Macintosh computer. They wanted to participate in a users group but were disappointed to learn the the nearest meeting was in downtown Pittsburgh.
After several months of work they were able to organize their own, official Macintosh User's Group, serving Westmoreland and eastern Allegheny counties.
Since then the group has continued as a friendly place for people to talk about the latest hardware and software, ask and answer questions, and share information about how they use their Macintosh computers.
COWMUG members range in age from middle school students to retirees.

COWMUG is a full service user group including: meetings, newsletter, programs -- it is a community group, open to anyone. Membership dues are required. They usually meet at the Monroeville Public Library on the First Thursday of the month, at 7 pm. However, you should check their web site for specifics.
