January MUG Meetings
How does your Mac user group handle January meetings during Macworld?
I have always found it interesting as to topic used for MUG meeting during the month of a MacWorld Expo. I have seen groups cancel their meeting because it happened before or during Expo.
Groups that are in San Francisco or other cities that have held Expos would take advantage of the influx of vendors to have increased meetings with larger turn outs. (Final Cut Pro User Groups are particularly good at this.)
As I said a couple of weeks ago, I have never understood the reasoning behind canceling meetings unless safety of the membership is involved. (See my "Cancelling Meetings" post)
CowtownMUG will be meeting
on Tuesday, January 10th. While we will undoubtedly discuss the Keynote announcements and perhaps a few others that happen that day, the focus of the meeting will be on using the Mac and iMovie/iPhoto to document important events in your life.
If a follow-up is needed concerning things going on at Expo, that will be done at the February meeting when we have had time to prepare.
I think that is appropriate.
